About The Author

Hi! I’m Luke, also known as “Luke Stevenson” or “Lucanos” online (Due to the fact that my name is the same as an American musician, making “Lucanos” a bit more unique.)

I am a Network Engineer for a major Australian telecommunications company, and in what free time I have, I also freelance for web development and consulting as well as give time to a number of voluntary community activities.

The majority of work I have done with regards to coding has been in the form of systems used within the intranet of my employer (meaning that I cannot really share them on the net) or as a subcontractor for development of systems which are on the net, but are primarily the work of another developer.
I am pretty much a “Jack Of All Trades - Master Of None.“, having no formal qualifications in engineering or computers, with my highest formal training being the Australian High School Certificate. I have taught himself, and learnt (either directly or indirectly) from many others through the internet both from terrific tutorials and from the wonders of “View Source” and “Open Source” - the root of all knowledge.
I have experience in a number of languages, such as:

I have a fair amount of experience with Unix (predominantly Fedora, but also Solaris), and a number of Open Source Content Management Systems (such as TextPattern and WordPress). I am constantly keeping track of, installing and experimenting in other Open Source packages as they become available, and in that respect, I often try and contribute back to the Open Source community through assisting with plugins or bug reports as I find them.

I am available for contract and project work, and I am very interested in pursuing a career in the IT field. So if you would like to contact him directly, simple send an email to lucanos@gmail.com

you mean you only have O levels?

Lucanos —
I am not aware of the term “O levels”. But, if it may answer your question, the extent of my formal education was High School.
